After the unsuccessful start in the Tour de Ski for cross-country skiers on Saturday in Val Müstair (SUI), Teresa Stadlober took 15th place in the classic mass start race of more than 10 km.

After being eliminated in the sprint classification, she is now 18th after two of eight races. Sweden’s Linn Svahn took the victory in 30: 09.9 minutes ahead of Julia Stupak (RUS / + 0.7) and Jessica Diggins (United States / + 0.8). Svahn leads the tour standings ahead of Diggins and compatriot Frida Karlsson.

The women’s decision at Val Müstair rests on the home straight: After favorites Karlsson and Andersson are unable to escape, another Swede uses her sprinting skills: Linn Svahn celebrates her first distance victory in 15 kilometers. With men, Alexander Bolshunov’s success is indisputable.

“I fought hard today”

“I fought hard today, unfortunately at the beginning I was involved in a lot, I didn’t go any further and as a result I lost some places that I had to make up,” Stadlober explained in a broadcast. Overall she is satisfied with the run as the trail topography is not necessarily one of her favorite routes.

The second Austrian, Lisa Unterweger, finished in 42nd place, 2:34 minutes into the race, and on Sunday the first stage will be followed by the 10km chase (skating).
