Nicole Schmidhofer actually has other concerns after her serious knee injury.
However, as the numerous and sometimes creative placement of sponsors on her hospital bed during a press conference drew criticism both in the media and on social media, the 31-year-old is now resolutely defending herself against these complaints.
“Please, that’s completely normal,” Schmidhofer explains on Instagram, “it was important to me that it was.
For the Styrian it is easy to explain why: “If I had won a race, the sponsors would have been there too. This time I did not win a race, but the sponsors are behind me, they give me strength and support me in every way. That is why it is also important for me that you are in the image. “
Schmidhofer is currently at the UKH in Graz after his fall from terror in Val d’Isere. The next operation would soon be on the “fix the knee” program.
“I’m fine from what you can see. I’m in very good hands in Graz, I have very good doctors around me. It’s almost like a luxury vacation, they do everything for me. I’m very grateful that it’s going so well,” Schmidhofer sees lots of light in the shadow of the injury.
