Two of the four members of the SPÖ in the Vorarlberg state parliament are infected with the corona virus.

One of them is the future mayor of Bregenz, Michael Ritsch. From the SPÖ club it was said on Monday afternoon that, in addition to Ritsch, the member of the state parliament Elke Zimmermann had tested positive for Covid-19. Both are in quarantine, their health is stable. Due to their symptoms, they were prescribed strict bed rest, the SPÖ club announced.

It has yet to be determined when Ritsch will be sworn in as mayor of Bregenz.

Elke Zimmermann, a member of the state parliament, is deputy mayor of Bürs and, in addition to her political work, also a company councilor for the Bludenz district hospital.

Test station installed in the country house

For security reasons, a test station was installed at the farmhouse for all meeting participants on October 7, explains the head of the state parliament Borghild Goldgruber-Reiner to VOL.AT. Members of parliament, members of the government, employees and also journalists should have the opportunity to quickly conduct tests.

“With the possibility of testing in the field house, we want to prevent the virus from spreading further.” Other infections that could affect the functioning of government, legislation and administration should definitely be ruled out, said Health Councilor Martina Rüscher. The test results should be available on Tuesday.

Employees of the city of Bregenz must now also be tested for the corona virus.

470 infected people in Vorarlberg

As of Monday afternoon, 470 people were infected with the corona virus in Vorarlberg.
