Crown numbers in Austria continue to rise. Nearly 50,000 people in the country have tested positive so far, including about 3,700 children.
As the Federal Ministry of the Interior announced on Monday, there have been 48,896 positive test results in Austria so far. As of today (9:30 am), 818 people in Austria have died as a result of the virus and 39,058 have recovered. Currently 488 people are in hospital treatment for the virus and 101 of them are in intensive care units.
The new infections are broken down in the Austrian federal states as follows: Burgenland 9, Carinthia 12, Lower Austria 97, Upper Austria 106, Salzburg 23, Styria 32, Tirol 106, Vorarlberg 50 and Vienna 315. This has been the case in Austria in the last 24 hours. 750 new infections were administered.
Almost 9,000 active corona cases in Austria
According to the official Covid-19 panel of the Ministry of Health, there are currently almost 9,000 active cases in Austria. 8,984 people (at 11 am) currently suffer from Corona. Most of them can be found in the federal capital, here there are currently 4,515 active patients. In Lower Austria (1,196), the number of active cases is also in four digits.
In all other federal states, the number of active patients with a crown is three digits. In Upper Austria, 948 people are currently suffering from the virus, in Tirol 751, in Styria 505, in Vorarlberg 391, in Salzburg 332, in Burgenland 182 and in Carinthia 164 people.
750 children who tested positive are under the age of 5
The number of children who ever tested positive has also risen steadily in recent months. Almost 3,700 children have been infected with the corona virus since the outbreak in Austria. 2,971 children are between five and 14 years old, 726 are under the age of five.
Most of those who ever tested positive (9,234) are between the ages of 15 and 24. It is followed by the 25 to 34 age group (9,018) and the 45 to 54 age group (8,016). 1,306 people who tested positive are over 84 years old.
