Since the start of the second shutdown, yesterday at midnight, a total of 28 complaints have been issued in Austria for violations of exit restrictions, 17 of them in Vienna alone.
The Interior Ministry announced Wednesday afternoon that there were four advertisements in Salzburg and Styria and three in Tyrol. In addition, the Ministry of the Interior has so far registered twelve official acts for violations of the provisions in places that do not serve to satisfy an immediate need for housing, as established by the Ordinance on Protection Measures Covid-19. Garages, gardens and barns are not considered private living areas, so the regulation does not intervene. Therefore, only groups of up to six people coming from a maximum of two different households, plus a maximum of six minor children, can meet there before 8 p.m. The authorities intervened eleven times in Tyrol and once in Salzburg, and no reports were issued.
“From a police point of view, we are more than satisfied with the initial results of the controls. There were only a few isolated violations throughout the country. The cooperation between the police and the population as partners is again working very well”, emphasized Patrick Maierhofer , spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior. .
