By opening the Slovenian borders, the Austrians will be able to re-enter the country without restrictions. All borders with neighboring countries are opened, including Italy, Hungary and Croatia.

So far, all travelers from EU countries in Slovenia have been subjected to a domestic quarantine for seven days. In the future, they will only receive an information sheet with crown protection measures. Another requirement to enter is that you have not been outside the EU in the last 14 days. Anyone who claims to have crown symptoms upon entry will be denied entry. Third-country nationals may enter the country, but a 14-day home quarantine requirement applies.

19 crossings to Austria before opening

Under the ordinance that went into effect on Friday, 19 road crossings between Austria and Slovenia are now open again, but seven of them can only be crossed by travelers, homeowners, and to visit close family members. The railway crossing at Spielfeld is also open.

The road junctions Bad Radkersburg, Grablach, Karawankentunnel (highway), Lavamünd, Loibltunnel, Mureck, Radlpass, Berghausen, Sicheldorf, Spielfeld (main road and highway) and Wurzenpass are fully open. The Bonisdorf, Langegg, Seebergsattel, Paulitschsattel, St. Anna am Aigen, Pölten and Zelting border crossings are only open to a limited extent.

Ljubljana, Maribor and Piran airports will also be opened, as well as the Adriatic ports in Koper and Piran.

In Austria, entry restrictions from neighboring countries still apply until the end of May. They provide quarantines at home upon entry. Since Friday, however, the easing has been in effect at the borders with Germany, where only random checks are carried out. Starting June 15, restrictions on Germany and Switzerland will be lifted entirely. Austria had promised similar steps with all other neighboring countries except Italy.

Travel warning for Belarus

The Foreign Ministry issued a “travel warning” to the former Soviet Republic, the highest security level six, due to the widespread spread of the crown virus in Belarus.

Degraded switzerland

As announced by the Foreign Ministry in Vienna on Friday, the security rating for Switzerland also changed from six to four. The “travel warning” for the whole of Switzerland regarding the spread of the coronavirus is thus lifted. Switzerland continues to face a “high security risk”: level four means travel that is not absolutely necessary is discouraged.
