Signs of Lionel Messi’s move to Manchester City are increasing!
According to media reports, the Argentine world star is said to have spoken with his former coach Pep Guardiola, who is now a City employee, about his desire to leave Barcelona.
The British newspaper “The Times” wrote this Friday about an alleged phone call between Messi and Guardiola.
After Messi told his former sponsor of his intentions to move, Guardiola is reported to have announced that he would campaign for the 33-year-old to get engaged to ManCity bosses.
Meeting between the head of the city and Messi’s father?
According to the “Times”, the head of the city and former vice president of Barça, Ferran Soriano, is even in the Spanish region of Catalonia to meet with Messi’s father, Jorge, to talk next week.
Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp would be happy about that too. “Messi has never played in another league. Football is different here. I would like to see it. But I’m not sure if it will happen,” said the German. No song is a compromise of the offensive artist with the “Reds”. “Who wouldn’t want Messi on their team? But there is no chance,” Klopp said.
As long as Messi really gets out of his contract with Barça, City’s chances are almost never there. Especially thanks to Guardiola. Messi played with the Spanish star coach in Barcelona from 2008 to 2012. In addition to countless national titles, the duo won the Champions League twice together. And as is well known, he’s at the top of Manchester City’s wish list.
