A 59-year-old man fired several shots in the direction of a neighboring property from the window of his home in Sattledt (Wels-Land district) on Monday afternoon. The shooter was arrested a little later by the Cobra Special Task Force and various patrols, police said.

The man had fired several shots around 2 pm, initially unknown weapon. The neighbor later notified the police. This moved a large contingent of officials and closed all adjacent streets and businesses.

Look for the murder weapon

Police assume it was a real weapon, possibly a compressed air rifle, but not a toy gun, because bullet holes were found in the wall, a spokeswoman said. But the murder weapon is still being searched.

The shooter is a 59-year-old man who left his family’s home himself after the police arrived. Initially, the history of the crime was unclear.
