After several corona infections at Fürstenfeld High School, the school was officially closed on Wednesday.
Just two days ago the health authority of the city of Salzburg closed the federal secondary school Zaunergasse due to the massive advance of the corona pandemic, now the next school has to close its doors. This time it is BG / BRG Fürstenfeld in Styria.
Due to several positive corona cases between students and a teacher, the high school was officially closed on Wednesday. The district captain, Max Wiesenhofer, confirmed to the “Kleine Zeitung” that the early closure was a security measure.
The infected students are from different classes and come from different districts. Apparently not enough distance was kept on school buses, the report says. The mask requirement was not always followed on buses. Therefore, monitoring is difficult.
Homeschooling from Thursday
The school informed parents of the closure on Wednesday. “Students, as well as parents and guardians, are urged to closely monitor their health status,” the school said in a letter.
Homeschooling now takes place on Thursdays and Fridays, followed by Fall Break. During the holidays, the students must then “cure themselves”. Other schools in the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district are not (currently) affected by the closures.
