Serie A: Juventus Turin waits in vain for Naples

The Italian league had not canceled the Serie A coup according to the statutes. According to his decision, games can only be postponed if clubs have fewer than 13 professionals or 10 crown cases occur in a week.

Health Minister Roberto Speranza finally confirmed Sunday that there would be no game. The Juve professionals had arrived at the Allianz Stadium anyway, the line-up was announced and even some spectators were present, although it was clear to all that the rival professionals would not arrive. The game is now expected to be 3-0 rated for Juventus.

Minister of Health: “Less football, more school”

The Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, asked that soccer be given a little less importance in times of the coronavirus pandemic. He also said: “A little less football and a little more school if possible.”

Italy had been severely affected by the February pandemic. After a strict lockdown, the number of infections remained low for a long time. In the meantime, however, the numbers are rising again more strongly. On Saturday, authorities registered more than 2,800 new infections in 24 hours and 27 more deaths from corona.

The Serie A schedule is already upset by the pandemic. The game scheduled for Saturday between Genoa and Torino has been postponed. At least 17 professionals have now tested positive with the Genoese
