A ten-year-old girl was seriously injured in a toboggan accident in Semmering (Neunkirchen district) on Saturday afternoon. According to police, the woman on the slide suffered a leg injury. She was rescued by mountain rescue and transferred to the hospital by rescue helicopter. Two other 19- and 53-year-old slides were also injured in separate accidents on the toboggan run.

All three accidents occurred within 45 minutes, that is, between 3:15 pm and 4:00 pm, the Lower Austrian state police department reported.

Seriously injured in Tirol

The toboggan accident also happened in Tyrol at noon: a 47-year-old Austrian went on a trip to the toboggan run at the Kramerhof in Kirchdorf in Tirol with her 51-year-old partner and two children. For a previously unknown cause, the 47-year-old got off the toboggan run on the bottom section of the well-groomed and grippy toboggan run on a slight right-hand bend, punctured a plastic net and got stuck in a wooden post. The woman was rescued from the ER doctor’s helicopter with a rope and flown to the St. Johann iT district hospital. Due to her life-threatening injuries, she had to be transferred to the Innsbruck clinic.
