LINZ. The new year had only moments when the race for the “Austrian New Year’s Baby” had already started. And with Dimo and Adnan, two newborns secured the coveted title. They saw the light of day in Tyrol and Styria at the stroke of midnight. Little Selina won the race in Upper Austria. He was born 50 seconds after midnight at Kepler University Hospital.
“We are both doing very well,” says Mama Gjulizar Memedoska. “Armin and I were eager to have our daughter. Selina is exhausted and sleeps all the time.” Gjulizar and Armin Memedoska have three boys, their first daughter weighed 4120 grams at birth and was 54 cm tall.

Governor Thomas Stelzer often visits parents and New Year’s baby. But this is not the case this year.
“Even with the New Years baby, everything is different this year. We would have liked to visit little Selina and her parents personally, but sadly this was not possible due to Corona regulations,” Governor Stelzer and his deputy Christine say. Haberlander (both vice president). “Selina symbolizes the beginning of a 2021 year, hopefully more positive.”
After five girl solos since 2016, there is a double win for Adnan and Dimo in the race for New Years Baby 2021. They were both born on the dot of midnight, although in Adnan’s case it was too early: due to a premature delivery, she was born in the 32nd week of pregnancy. Selina followed him just 50 seconds later. The Salzburg New Year’s baby took longer, Leon was born ten minutes after midnight. Closely followed by First Carinthian, Ferdinand was born at 0.13 am Ilyas from Vienna and Maksymilian from Lower Austria followed a little later. Martha was the first woman to be born in Vorarlberg at 2.37am, but Luca got more comfortable in Burgenland. Saw the daylight at 4:30 a.m. (bad)
