Vaccination of the population in the Schwaz district will begin on Thursday. Due to the spread of the South African virus variant, the district received a special installment from the EU. 48,500 people have signed up to receive a Biontech / Pfizer vaccine, that’s 76 percent of people eligible for vaccination. At the same time, the compulsory exit test for Tyrol ends at midnight. Instead, an exit test is mandatory for a maximum of two weeks when leaving the Schwaz district.

There, the police and the armed forces will carry out on-the-spot checks. A total of 100,000 doses of vaccines are available in the district, 64,000 Schwazers were eligible for vaccination. There are 26 vaccination sites for the 39 municipalities. There, doctors or qualified health personnel will carry out the vaccination. Vaccination coverage must be scientifically monitored nationally and internationally by doctors and virologists.

The general compulsory exit test in Tirol has been in place for almost four weeks. Current checks in Schwaz will be carried out at 14 points at the district borders, motorway entrances and train stations.
