The forces were deployed on Friday afternoon to rescue people in Thalheim, near Wels (Wels-Land district).
“A 66-year-old man from Wels wanted to install a riser in a vacant lot in Thalheim near Wels on May 8, 2020 around 12:00. He lost his balance and fell about 4 meters deep in the well, where the man could stay at water level. A neighbor heard him scream and the rescue chain began, “police report.
The fire department was alerted to rescue people. At the same time that the fire brigade arrived, the Christophorus 10 emergency helicopter landed in the vicinity of the site. Fire brigade forces were finally able to secure the man and save him from the well below the garage.
After the subsequent first aid of the ambulance service and the team of the emergency helicopter Christophorus 10, the patient thanked the emergency services with a big “thank you”. He was taken to the Wels Clinic with the ambulance service.
“There was outpatient treatment there. The 66-year-old man suffered only minor injuries,” police said.
