It’s finally fixed!
Star forward Luis Suárez, sidelined by Barcelona’s new coach Ronald Koeman, has found accommodation with Spanish league rival Atlético de Madrid.
As the two clubs announced late Wednesday night, seven million euros in bonus payments from Atlético to Barça for the deal. Suarez is considered a close confidant of six-time world footballer Lionel Messi, who is also subject to speculation about changes.
Suárez, 33, played for the Catalans for six years and his contract would have expired next year. Now the Uruguayan has been at Atlético for two years. In August, reports that Messi would want to leave FC Barcelona after 16 years caused outrage among Barça fans. The Argentine is also reportedly said to value a family atmosphere at the club, in which Suarez was one. So the two of them only spent their family vacations together in the summer.
