In the last 24 hours, 923 new corona infections were recorded in Austria. Only in Vienna 399 positive corona tests were evaluated.
On Tuesday there were more confirmed active SARS-CoV-2 infected people in Austria than ever since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. The Interior Ministry and the Health Ministry reported 9,207 cases at 9:30 a.m., beating the previous record of 9,123 people infected on April 3. 923 new infections have been reported in the last 24 hours. Almost 500 Covid-19 patients had to be treated in the hospital on Tuesday, 101 in intensive care units.
New corona infections by federal state
New infections since the last report are distributed among the Austrian federal states as follows:
- Burgenland: 27
- Carinthia: 16
- Lower Austria: 170
- Upper Austria: 100
- Salzburg: 36
- Steiermark: 52
- Tyrol: 72
- Vorarlberg: 51
- Vienna: 399
More than 50,000 positive tests since the start of the pandemic
Four more deaths were reported in Austria than on Monday, and a total of 822 people have so far died from the consequences of the corona virus. An average of 825 new infections were added daily during the last seven days. A total of 49,819 people tested positive at 9:30 am 39,790 people are considered recovered.
The Health Ministry dashboard, on the other hand, is continually updated and passed the 50,000 positive test mark at 11 a.m. Thus, 50,004 people had ever tested positive, corresponding to 0.56 percent of Austrians. .
