On Wednesday, more than 6,200 new corona infections were reported in Austria. In Upper Austria alone, 1,510 positive tests were counted in the last 24 hours. The country has thus set a new negative record.
Austria once again set a new crown record: 6,211 new infections were reported on Wednesday. This does not even include the new infections in Lower Austria, which were missing yesterday due to technical problems.
New corona infections by federal state
New infections since the last report are distributed among the Austrian federal states as follows:
- Burgenland: 203
- Carinthia: 426
- Lower Austria: 880
- Upper Austria: 1,510
- Salzburg: 437
- Steiermark: 461
- Tyrol: 1,143
- Vorarlberg: 306
- Vienna: 845
So far there have been 125,099 positive test results in Austria. As of today (November 4, 2020, 9:30 a.m.), 1,227 people in Austria have died from the consequences of the corona virus and 77,036 have recovered. Currently, 2,584 people are in hospital treatment due to the coronavirus and 383 of them are in intensive care units.
690 new infections Tuesday in Lower Austria
Due to technical problems, no new infections could be reported yesterday in Lower Austria. This was fixed and on November 3, 690 new infections were reported for Lower Austria. These are not included in today’s report on new infections.
The government had previously designated 6,000 cases per day as the critical level at which the limits of intensive care capabilities would gradually be reached with the onset of the flu wave. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) expected that this value would not be reached until the beginning of December.
