From Sunday to Thursday, the golf course in Waldviertel will be the center of golf events. As part of the Haugschlag NÖ Open by perfect eagle, the Pro Tour with the best players is a guest.
HAUGSCHLAG. While the Schladming Open still continues until Friday in Styria this week, the GC Haugschlag in North Waldviertel is already awaiting its climax of the season. Next Sunday, the Haugschlag Lower Austria Open by perfect eagle, which will begin next Tuesday, September 8, will be heralded with a Pro Am. Like Schladming, the tournament is part of the Pro Golf Tour and has a total value of 30,000 euros . So on Thursday the winner will receive a check for 5000 euros.
Consequently, the starting field is prominent, as the winners of a total of eight Pro Tour events this year have already registered for the Haugschlag tournament. The French Julien Brun is a two-time winner of the tournament (Open Casa Green Golf in Morocco, Gradi Polish Open in Poland), Thomas Rosenmüller from Germany is also a two-time winner (Palmeraie Country Club in Morocco, ALTEPRO Trophy in the Czech Republic), the Swiss Jeremy Freiburghaus won the Bahia Golf Beach in Morocco, the French Victor Veyret and Jean Bekirian the Red Sea in Egypt and the Sokhna Classic also in Egypt, and finally the Czech Ales Korinek was the dominant man recently in St. Pölten.
With Czech Jan Cafourek, last year’s winner will also be in Haugschlag this year. The then very dramatic decision in the playoff against the aforementioned Jean Bekirian is still fondly remembered by golf fans today.
Red-white-red team in Haugschlag
The national department of the Haugschlag NÖ Open is also important. On the golf course, Lukas Lipold, the best of 2019, will also strike the first shot. The Salzburger, who meanwhile switched to the professional field, finished 10th last year and were able to show their great talent this year when they reached the final day as the best Austrian in their first European Tour tournament at Adamstal. Sebastian Wittmann, Alois Kluibenschädl, Oliver Rath, Robert Molnar, Ralph Leitner, Nikolaus Wimmer, Kurt Mayr, Michael Vonbank, Jürgen Maurer, Bernard Neumayer, HP Bacher, Daniel Hebenstreit, Alexander Haslauer and fans Lars Namu Sarmini, Florian Schweighofer, Florian Kochighofer complete the big red-white-red lineup at Haugschlag.
In the Order of Merit, that is, the general classification of the international Pro Golf Tour, there was a change of leadership after the ATEPRO Trophy in the Czech Republic. Frenchman Julien Brun, who had been in the lead until then, had to hand over his leadership position to German Thomas Rosenmüller. Behind the now second Brun, Victor Veyret of France follows in third place and the Swiss Jeremy Freiburghaus in fourth. The Pro Golf tournament in Schladming mentioned at the beginning and which is running has not yet been taken into account in this ranking.
