The Queen’s birthday this year was a little different than usual, but this romantic gesture of love from her husband, Prince Philip, remains.

She is the most important person in the British royal family and her birthday is celebrated accordingly every year – Queen Elizabeth (94) turned 94 on April 21, but this year the celebration was unusually modest. The coronavirus, of course, is still to blame, and it still keeps the world on hold. Especially the monarch and her husband, Prince Felipe (98) have to protect themselves, because they are in the risk group with their old age. And that’s why she herself doesn’t want to make a big fuss about her day of honor – even the traditional cannon shots, which were otherwise fired in honor of the Queen, were omitted, as the Queen herself considered this to be inappropriate in such difficult times.

As reported by “mirror.co.uk”, it is a tradition in their marriage: each year, the 98-year-old woman presents the Queen with a bouquet of flowers for her birthday. Ingrid Seward, editor-in-chief of Majesty magazine, said: “She likes white flowers and that’s why there are lilies of the valley every year. She loves flowers.” Even if the prince consort can’t choose the flowers this year, he will surely have commissioned someone to continue this sweet tradition, Seward said.
