PAZNAUN, ISCHGL, ST. ANTON (otko) Quarantine has been lifted since midnight. The cities of Paznaun Ischgl, Galtür, Kappl and See can be reached again, as well as the municipality of St. Anton am Arlberg.
Strict quarantine lifted
The isolation of the quarantine areas in Paznaun and St. Anton am Arlberg is a thing of the past. On Thursday (April 23) at 00:00 a.m., the bars at the checkpoints went up and since then federal regulations have also been applied here. The five municipalities in the Landeck district were the last in Austria to be quarantined due to the crown virus. Paznaun and St. Anton am Arlberg have been in quarantine since March 13. The St. Anton district of St. Christoph am Arlberg was isolated on March 17.
Due to the small number of new infections and the significant decrease in crown patients, obstacles and strict exit restrictions could be removed earlier. The quarantine was originally ordered until April 26. According to the current figures from the Tyrol State Board (as of April 23 at 9:30 am) there are currently 26 “positive positives” in Ischgl, 18 in St. Anton am Arlberg, 5 in Galtür, 4 in Kappl and 3 in See.
Relieved population
With a local inspection on Thursday morning, it was relatively quiet in the towns of Paznaun. The sigh of relief and relief among the population can be felt everywhere. But there is much more on the main street than in the last days and weeks. Travelers could finally return to their workplaces outside the valley. Some people use the “new freedom” for a shopping tour to Landeck. Construction sites are also busy again. Numerous trucks brought material or concrete. Suppliers who collected gaps could also be seen in hotels.
