The 16 recognized churches and religious societies will not hold any public services from December 28 to January 17, as announced Monday.

According to the government, religious communities are also adhering to the renewed closure due to the corona virus: the 16 recognized churches and religious societies will not perform any public services after the Christmas holidays, specifically from December 28 to December 17. There are no public services, except for Orthodox celebrations.

An exception will apply to all believers who celebrate Orthodox Christmas on the Julian calendar on January 6 and 7. According to the government, they will be able to carry out public services under “the strictest safety and hygiene measures.”

“Even if the fight against the corona pandemic has been with us for so long and has already demanded a lot of us, the next few months will again be particularly challenging,” Raab said.
