#Positive work at Almdudler: respect and naturalness for HIV-positive people in the workplace

Vienna (OTS) Vienna, December 1, 2020. “Whether at work, with your partner or in your free time: with timely diagnosis and therapy, HIV no longer has to result in restrictions. We want to clearly demonstrate this through our participation in Aids Hilfe’s #positivarbeiten initiative “explains Almdudler CEO Gerhard Schilling. “Almdudler has lived values such as tolerance, openness, union and unity since its founding. So it comes naturally to us, especially as a family business, to campaign for the inclusion of HIV-positive people in the workplace. “ Sabine Russian, Personnel Management Manager at Almdudler, adds: “Today, people with HIV can live and work like everyone else and of course with Almdudler as well.” In the Austrian family business, HIV-positive employees and everyone else, regardless of skin color, origin, religion or sexual orientation, are welcome, because a respectful union is actively promoted at Almdudler.

Declaration of respect and self-evidence

Gerhard Schilling and Sabine Russo proudly signed the “Declaration of Respect and Self-Evidence” to seal the commitment to non-discriminatory treatment of HIV-positive people in the workplace and to make it actively visible. Because what is still not clear to many: people with HIV can work in any profession, HIV does not change talent or skills, and performance is not restricted. Furthermore, transmission of HIV in daily work life is impossible and HIV itself is no longer transmitted under therapy. “All employees are part of the Almdudler family and we clearly oppose any form of disadvantage”, so Russian. At Almdudler they are convinced: respect, openness and humanity are the basic pillars for a better quality of life and, therefore, contribute to a grateful work environment.
