A driver could only be stopped on the B1 on Saturday afternoon by turning a police car. Previously, the drugged man had committed numerous traffic violations on the busy highway. For example, despite the red light, he crossed the busy Traun junction.
Several witnesses reported the wild ride to the police. Police officers had to use force to remove the 36-year-old from his car. After a clinical examination at the police station found that he was unable to drive, his driver’s license was taken away.
30 years old riding a children’s bicycle
He was not the only road user visible this Saturday in the Linz-Land district. In the morning, passers-by on the Trauner Tischlerstrasse had alerted the police about a 30-year-old from Linz. When the officers arrived at the scene, the man approached them on a children’s bicycle and could barely keep his balance.
Officials noted several symptoms that suggest an impairment from addictive substances. The man refused to be asked to undergo a clinical examination. Police said his driver’s license could not be confiscated because he never had one.
Not buckled and drunk
Around 4 p.m., the same patrol searched a driver because he was not wearing a seat belt. Since he also showed signs of alcoholism, law enforcement officers conducted an alcohol test on him. With this it reached a value of 1.02 per thousand. The 41-year-old man from the Linz-Land district was stripped of his driver’s license.
The two policemen stopped another driver shortly before 9 p.m. They had noticed his vehicle due to several obvious defects. During the inspection, there were also indications that the 34-year-old from the Linz-Land district was in no condition to drive. This was also confirmed during the medical examination, after which the man’s driver’s license was temporarily withdrawn due to fatigue. All violations are reported to the BH Linz-Land.
