The promotion to the knockout stage of the football Europa League is a long way off for Rapid after two games. A week after 1: 2 against the group’s favorite Arsenal, the Viennese were also beaten 0: 1 (0: 0) at Molde FK. On the artificial turf of the Aker Stadium, Ohi Omoijuanfo (65th) scored the goal of the well-deserved victory for the Norwegian champions. Arsenal lead Group B ahead of Molde with six points apiece, Rapid and his next opponent Dundalk remain meaningless.
Quick coach Didi Kühbauer surprised with his lineup. Molde kept changing the game
Even after the change, Molde took command again and had good opportunities. Gartler was initially the winner again in the duel with Omoijuanfo (55th), Fredrik Aursnes also did not get the ball into the goal. In the 65th minute, however, the Norwegians rewarded each other for their constant efforts. Omoijuanfo used a pass from Stangl de Haugen to take the lead.
So Rapid became more offensively active. Ercan Kara missed the biggest chance to equalize (74th), while Ritzmaier demanded a penalty in vain after a duel in the area.
