The Viennese police carried out more traffic checks across the city on Friday. Seven crown sinners were punished.

The Vienna regional traffic department carried out a Vienna-wide targeting campaign in cooperation with the regional vehicle inspection office, the financial police and the market office of the city of Vienna. In the course of this approach, six cars were presented to the state vehicle inspection agency. A total of 40 defects were found here, resulting in 60 reports.

In the case of the five buses presented, 24 defects were found and 53 complaints were filed. All buses had their license plates removed due to serious defects. Another unlicensed driver was stopped and taken to a doctor for a clinical examination. This later determined a deterioration through addictive substances. Additionally, part of the advertised person’s vehicle’s exhaust system was missing.

Another focus of the LVA Vienna focused on disabled drivers. A total of 96 alcohol pre-tests were performed and 69 deficiencies were found in the testing center. Furthermore, there were 36 board mandates (traffic law violations), 22 reports (traffic law violations), seven board mandates under the Covid-19 Measures Act, four reports after noise measurements , three license plate recalls, one report due to drug abuse, and one driver’s license recall.

The passengers did not wear protective masks in the car.

During the controls, seven people received crown fines of 40 euros. They did not wear mouth and nose protection and, according to police, the officers had no reason to wear them. In the strict rules of confinement, people who do not live in the same household but sit in a car must wear protective masks.
