Overtaking ban ignored: accident resulted in three injuries

[ad_1]

The emergency doctor, ambulance and fire brigade were on duty Tuesday around 5:20 am in Munderfing municipality (Braunau district): despite the ban on overtaking, a 30-year-old driver tried to overtake a truck on the B147. As he did so, he collided head-on with an oncoming car, driven by a 40-year-old man from the Braunau district.

Due to the force of the impact, the 30-year-old’s car was thrown sideways against the trailer of the truck, before both cars stopped in a meadow. Car drivers and the 40-year-old man’s 34-year-old wife were injured in the accident. The rescue took them to the Braunau and Salzburg hospitals. The truck driver survived the accident unharmed, police said Tuesday morning.

Both cars were severely damaged and the truck suffered minor property damage. Munderfing volunteer firefighters did the cleanup job, Achenlohe and Markt Friedburg.

Both vehicles were seriously damaged.
