The second highest value of new corona infections was recorded on Saturday. There were a total of 1,058 new cases.
With 1,058 new confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2, the second highest number of new infections was reported in Austria on Saturday within 24 hours of the start of the pandemic. The maximum dates from March 26 and was 1,065 new cases.
8,578 people actively contract the coronavirus
The number of positive test results rose to 47,432, the Ministry of the Interior and Health reported. As of Saturday (9.30am), 809 people in Austria have died from the consequences of the coronavirus and 38,045 have recovered. The number of corona-positive cases currently confirmed was 8,578. On Friday it was 8,385.
494 people were treated in hospitals for Covid-19. 97 of these patients were in intensive care units.
