Started Austrian ski jumping team consisting of Stefan Kraft, Michael Hayböck, Philipp Aschenwald and Daniel Huber perfect for the new season of the World Cup. As in the previous year, the Austrians won the team competition in Wisla, Poland. Second place went to the German team, while Poland came in third.
After a very close first round, head coach Andreas Widhölzl’s team was still in second place, 0.7 points behind Germany.
With excellent team performance and strong jumps in the final, the ÖSV-Eagles were able to decide the competition at Adam-Malysz-Schanze in their favor. In the end, the advantage is 8.7 points over the Germans who are in second place and 16.5 points over Poland.
Tomorrow the individual competition is scheduled in Wisla

Andreas Widhölzl: “I was very nervous, it was the first competition in winter. Respect for the team, they improved and were punctual. It was a great team effort. ”
Stefan Kraft: “It was very, very exciting between the three nations from the beginning. I haven’t gotten along as well as I’d like. Fortunately, the last jump was the best. ”
Michael Hayboeck: “I am very happy and happy that everything went well from the first jump. It’s really fun when you can start with the team like this. ”
Philipp Aschenwald: “It’s great when you can start the new season like this. That we were able to repeat that from last year is just amazing. I still have potential, but I’m happy with my jumps. ”
Daniel Huber: “It was excellent for me. From the beginning I felt brutally at ease and realized that something was up. The second jump was sensational. ”
