Only one state should be allowed to continue unlocking – policy

As experts report, the government is advising on regional relaxation at the Corona summit. A federal state should be allowed to open as a test area.

Even if it has been said several times in recent weeks that Austria plans to further unlock the country, for example in the restaurant and hotel industry, it should not emerge from this in view of the extremely growing crown numbers. But the government still wants to unlock, at least regionally, as one source says. Consequently, only Corona Vorarlberg’s “model students” should be allowed to continue opening, there is a 7-day incidence of 72.8, reports the APA.

Vorarlberg should then be seen as a kind of “test zone”, on the basis of which it will be decided whether there could be further regional relaxation. In contrast, relaxation in Vienna with an incidence of 186.6, Lower Austria (196.2) and Salzburg (185.9) are excluded for almost all experts. Burgenland (169.5), Carinthia (177.4) and Styria (158) also show a high incidence.

Mutation prevents unlocking in Tirol

The state of Tirol shows a relatively low overall incidence of 99.3, but with Mayrhofen, Jenbach and Schwaz they have some of the most striking mutation hot spots in the state. There is a question mark behind Upper Austria with an incidence of 132. While the traffic light commission not only recently warned of further easing, the earlier ones should also be withdrawn when an incidence of 200 is reached, according to the recommendation, the experts should now also vote to pronounce regional measures.

Regional measures are also more likely due to the fact that many state politicians have spoken. Because despite rising numbers and blocking pressure on the federal government based on rising crown numbers, Burgendland’s state chief Hans Peter Doskozil or Vienna’s Health Councilor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) did have people sit down and take note of their own unlocking demands.
