The organizers of the French Open (live on the Eurosport channel on DAZN) “deeply” regret the new reduction of the authorities to a maximum of 1000 spectators per day.

The French tennis organizing association FFT announced this in a press release on Friday and also announced that it would be holding a raffle among the ticket owners. In addition, the association emphasized that it has cooperated closely with the authorities since the beginning of the health crisis to determine the correct path for the tournament.

French authorities announced Thursday that only 1,000 instead of 5,000 people were allowed to visit the facilities per day. The government had previously announced that a maximum limit of 1,000 people for major events would also apply in the capital as of Saturday. Last year, more than 519,000 fans came to the facility.

Even after the crown’s measures were further toughened, the situation in France has worsened. On Thursday night, authorities announced that more than 16,000 people had been infected with the corona virus in 24 hours. This is another sad record. A total of 536,000 people have been infected in France and more than 31,500 succumbed to the COVID-19 disease. In Europe, only Spain has a higher number of infections (704,000).
