AK and ÖGB criticize the names of the employees being laid off from Swarovski on big screens in a red field. It sounds soulless, it is not true either.
Wattens / Vienna. The story fits fairly well with the prejudices of big business: ruthless and cold or even “no standard”, as the president of the Tyrol Chamber of Labor, Erwin Zangerl, put it.
In a broadcast, Zangerl reported how the 1000 Swarovski completions would be carried out at Wattens: via large screens, in red and green fields. “The names of those who can stay are in a green field, those who have to leave in red.”
The outrage was understandably great. In the ÖGB, he wrote about “incredible methods” on Twitter. On social media, where people criticized Swarovski and management. And also in some media that widely reported on the incredible approach.
