ÖFB makes directional decisions on Wednesday

The result of the cup final between Red Bull Salzburg and Austria Lustenau is of great importance for the European Cup places. The game was reportedly scheduled for May 1 at the Klagenfurt Wörthersee stadium. Whether or not the game will take place will also be discussed in the video conference.

The starting position for the amateur leagues is relatively clear: Due to the ban on events until the end of June, the ÖFB Presidium will likely decide to end the season because ghost games are not a problem at this level. So it is important to clarify how to proceed: the championships could be canceled entirely or continue in the fall. “Our goal is to find a uniform solution across Austria,” said ÖFB Secretary General Thomas Hollerer, emphasizing: “I cannot and will not anticipate the Presidium.”

The Bundesliga club conference meets one day after the ÖFB Presidium. A further postponement of the resumption of gaming operations will be decided. A decision to end prematurely is considered unlikely, unless the government has not clearly spoken out against the ghost games by then. The top two leagues are officially on hiatus until early May.
