For two Bundesliga clubs, despite their home advantage, the second round of the ÖFB Cup was the final destination on Friday. After 120 minutes it was 2-2 in Südstadt. Wiener Austria won 3-1 against regional division Wiener Sportclub in the evening.

The “Veilchen” did their duty at the traditional Hernals club on rain-soaked ground. Monschein (39th) and Sarkaria (73rd) faced each other on penalty kicks, amid a curious own goal by WSC defender Gusic (56th) made the interim 0-2. Wattens and Admira are eliminated

KSV goalkeeper Franz Stolz, who stopped the penalties of rookie Joseph Ganda, Marco Hausjell and Milos Spasic, became the winner of the match. In the end, Admira didn’t help at all that Andreas Leitner was able to excel in the takes of Oliver Bacher and Dino Musija. Michael Lang used the decisive penalty. Thus, the Südstadters failed in the Cup for the fourth time in a row before the round of 16.
In a duel between two second division teams, Austria Klagenfurt beat SV Lafnitz 4-2. A club from the same division, SV Horn, failed with a 3-0 loss to Vienna’s urban division, ASK Elektra.
