The control bodies were insulted and verbally abused in several bars, the police filed eleven administrative complaints in this regard. Six other reports were made for undue noise. A total of 48 complaints were filed for breaches of safety regulations (blocked escape routes, blocked fire doors, security lighting that did not work) and relevant laws and regulations (commercial regulations, price labeling law, … ).
The officers also ran follow-up checks multiple times, and at least there were no repeat offenders. The spokesperson also emphasized that most of the club and restaurant operators adhered to the applicable laws.
“We are in a critical phase of the pandemic,” said Gerhard Pürstl, chairman of the state police in Vienna. “Illegally held events or parties that are driving the spread of the virus should not have a place,” he said. In any case, the police and the magistrate announced new controls.
New rules starting Monday
