There are 98 active positive cases in Vorarlberg less than at midnight. Numerous recovered people returned on Sunday.

By Sunday afternoon at 4 p.m., 98 fewer active positive cases had been recorded since midnight. Recoveries were reported in 321. The number of actively positive Covid-19 infected people dropped from 4,299 to 4201 cases. The intensive occupancy rate in hospitals remained tense, but did not increase. There were four more deaths.

In Vorarlberg, 72 people have died from or with the virus.

On Saturday, 14 people with Covid 19 were admitted to hospitals. A total of 180 COVID-19 patients are being cared for as inpatients, 287 of the 432 normal beds are still available for the treatment of COVID19 patients. 16 people could be discharged from the hospital. There are no detailed figures for Sunday yet; these will follow on Monday morning.

As of Sunday afternoon, 35 patients with Covid-19 had to be treated in the intensive care unit, 145 in the normal ward. Of the total of 63 intensive care beds, 16 are still available for all patient groups. 117 employees at Vorarlberg hospitals tested positive for corona, 106 are also in quarantine.

In twelve municipalities, the number of cases was (by far) more than 100, with the city of Dornbirn (530) leading, followed by Lustenau (335), Bregenz (318) and Feldkirch (272). As of Sunday afternoon, there were 18 municipalities in Vorarlberg with exactly 50 or more actively infected. 71.6 percent of all active coronavirus infections in Vorarlberg were distributed among these 18 communities. Only four of the 96 municipalities in Vorarlberg were free of the corona virus.

Most of those actively infected are still in the Bregenz district (1473), followed by Dornbirn (1103), Feldkirch (1040) and Bludenz (551).

7-day incidence

According to the Corona board of the Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), Vorarlberg again had the worst value of all Austrian federal states with the incidence of seven days per 100,000 inhabitants on Sunday. With 803 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, the state was ahead of Upper Austria (736) and Tyrol (672).

The Austrian average on Sunday was 543.

The four Vorarlberg districts currently have a seven-day incidence of more than 670. The Vorarlberg “hotspot” with an incidence of 976.5 remains the Dornbirn district.
