Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz (ÖVP) has invited a briefing at the Chancellery. Together with Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler and Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (both Greens), the Covid situation in Austrian hospitals will be analyzed, in particular the capacities of intensive care units. MedUni Vienna virologist Elisabeth Puchhammer-Stöckl, Klaus Markstaller, President of the Austrian Society for Anesthesia, Resuscitation and Intensive Medicine, Oswald Wagner, Vice-Rector of MedUni Vienna, Herwig Ostermann, Managing Director of Health Austria and Thomas Hausner, specialist are interviewed from the University of Vienna Lorenz Böhler Accident Hospital. The results will be announced to the public starting at 2 pm (see broadcast below).

Previously, there were rumors whether new Covid measures would be announced on the date, similar to closure plans in Germany, France and Switzerland. However, in response to a corresponding question from the “press”, government circles were initially overwhelmed: “When, what, how is it still open.”
