FPÖ President Norbert Hofer has tested positive for the corona virus. As the FPÖ announced in a broadcast on Sunday morning, Hofer has so far shown “predominantly fairly mild symptoms” and his illness has so far not been a cause for concern.

Hofer has been in home quarantine since last Tuesday because his wife, who works as a geriatric nurse at that Oberwart district nursing home, tested positive. For this reason, the president of the FPÖ was also subjected to a test by the authorities, the result that has been available since Sunday morning is positive. His quarantine continues. The FPÖ president now continues to work from his home office, the FPÖ announced.

At Pinkafelder Nursing Home, more than 50 cases of infection have been identified during testing, reports Burgenland state Coronavirus coordination staff. 38 residents and 16 employees were affected in the middle of the week. Read more about it here:
