TIROL. While the East relies on the “Easter rest”, measures to combat the pandemic in Tyrol will not change for the time being. LH Platter has the support of the population to adhere to the applicable regulations and even if it is difficult to do without family celebrations at Easter.
Currently, about 80 percent of new infections can be traced back to the private sector. Before the upcoming Easter weekend, which is a happy reunion for many families and friends outside of the times of the pandemic, LH Günther Platter addresses the Tyrolese with a request: “A year ago no one would have imagined that we would have to celebrate Easter for the second time this year under special auspices because of the crown. We all see ourselves as we are used to and want nothing more than to be able to meet our family and friends without any precautionary measures. Unfortunately, the current infection process does not allow us to delay in the holidays, as we were used to until now. Because one thing is clear: the number of infections is increasing and no measure to contain the corona pandemic can replace the support of the population. Each and every one of us is responsible for our own actions and, at the same time, we depend on the behavior of those around us. Because the number of infections increases when Measures such as keeping your distance, wearing an FFP2 mask, and restricting social contacts are not comply. Currently, 80 percent of new infections can be traced back to the private sector. More new infections mean an increased risk of more serious disease processes and sometimes also require additional measures that none of us would want. So that our usual life is within reach, I ask all Tyrolese to be careful, especially at Easter, so that there are no unnecessary infections and we continue to have the contagion process under control “ explains the governor.
Regardless of public holidays, the following regulations regarding the maximum number of people and starting times still apply in Tyrol:
- Maximum of four adults from two households and six children for indoor and outdoor gatherings
- Departure restrictions from 8 pm to 6 am
- For people leaving Austria during the Easter weekend, or “important relatives with whom physical or non-physical contact is generally maintained several times a week” from outside Austria, a registration obligation, verification of test and quarantine when entering Austria (in the ten days with free trial from the fifth day after entry).
- The events are generally prohibited according to the federal government’s COVID-19 Protective Measures Ordinance. The events include, in particular, planned meetings and activities of entertainment, fun, training and physical and mental edification. This also includes traditional events such as the Easter bonfires.
