SV Mattersburg’s VIP card allegations are “false, level and damaging to reputation”
Former Burgenland Governor Hans Niessl (SPÖ) emphasized on Monday that he expected an apology from ÖVP Burgenland in the Commerzialbank Mattersburg (Cb) case. The allegations that he had used SV Mattersburg’s VIP tickets for 3,000 euros a year free of charge for years were “false, level and damaging to reputation,” he said. In the event of an apology missing, I would consider filing a reputation complaint.
He views the politics of ÖVP club president Markus Ulram and state manager Patrik Fazekas as “turquoise Trumpism,” Niessl told a news conference in Eisenstadt. “The people of Burgenland do not want to twist the truths to spoil them and obtain a political advantage from them.” Ulram and Fazekas wrote their “script” for the Commerzialbank Cause in July and “pursue their goal of holding the SPÖ accountable, regardless of losses and ignoring the opinions of experts,” said the former governor.
Niessl also emphasized again that he had never had a business relationship with the Commerzialbank and that he had learned of the closure through the media. Niessl said he never accepted a VIP card and that he was returned one that was sent to him at the beginning of his tenure. In the last five years of his job as a state sports officer, he had been to a VIP club game five times. Consumption was always billed through your office or the sports department.
