A video has been published of a police operation in which a man who later died was arrested in the United States. The images show a police officer Daniel Prude putting on a hood. A short time later, Prude stopped moving. The autopsy revealed suffocation as the cause of death, as reported by the New York Times, among others.
The operation had already started in March. But only now is the case getting more attention: the relatives have posted a video of the event. The images come from the body camera of the police officers.
On March 23, Prude’s brother, Joe, called 911 in the city of Rochester because Daniel Prude was away from home and had mental health problems. It is said that Prude only came out in his underwear; When he met police, he was naked, according to the NY Times.
The video shows how Prude lies on the ground and is handcuffed. After three minutes, one of the policemen puts a hood on him. The deployment took place after the corona pandemic hit New York.
One of the police officers involved later stated that Prude had constantly tried to spit at the police officers and that the hood was worn out of fear of infection with the corona virus.
