At around 1:15 am on New Year’s Eve, the police ended a party with seven people in the Neunkirchen district.

Because fireworks are said to have been fired over and over again, the reports were made in accordance with the Covid-19 Measures Act and the Pyrotechnics Act, the Lower Austrian Police Department reported.

The police ended the New Years Eve party

The party was organized in a plastic tent in the courtyard of an apartment building. A patrol noticed the fireworks launched.

Unauthorized fireworks checks in the afternoon

There was already a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve afternoon in Tresdorf, a cadastral community in Leobendorf (Korneuburg district). Police officers heard the sound of an explosion during traffic checks. As a result, two young men aged 19 and 21 were found in a nearby field with fireworks of categories F2, F3 and F4. According to the State Police Directorate, the duo had no technical or specialized knowledge for F3 and F4.

136 fireworks insured

Agents seized 136 fireworks. There were 78 in the F3 category, 35 in the F4 category and another 23 that could not be categorized at the moment. The two men were reported for violations under the Pyrotechnics Law and the Covid-19 Measures Law.
