Salzburg police warn of new quasi-professional phone scams. Consequently, the perpetrators pretend to be Red Cross employees and offer corona vaccines for cash.

In addition to fraud attempts by nephews and nephews and requests for collateral by accident, there have recently been calls from alleged employees of the Austrian Health Insurance Fund (ÖGK) in Salzburg. The affected person is given a friendly explanation that therapies can be given for back problems or other problems and that therapists would pay for home visits.

Professional phone fraud

In other cases, unknown perpetrators posed as Red Cross employees and offered quick corona shots for cash. The callers seem very authentic and good actors.

That’s what the police advise

  • Under no circumstances allow others to connect and end calls as soon as possible.
  • Be cautious and suspicious; in any case, do not transfer money.
  • Educational work must be carried out in the family group, that is, parents and grandparents must be informed about said fraud attempt and speak about it.
  • If there are transfers, notify the police immediately.
