Apple introduced a new smartphone in the midst of the crown crisis. The new entry-level iPhone SE looks exactly like the iPhone 8 with its aluminum case and home button as a fingerprint reader. However, the American company has technically renewed the device and installed the modern A13 Bionic processor of the current iPhone 11. The optics and electronics of the camera have also been improved.

The new iPhone SE was originally expected in early April. However, market watchers had doubts months ago about how much restrictions on containment of the coronavirus will hinder cooperation between Apple developers in California and production experts from Chinese partner companies. Some analysts doubted that Chinese producers like Foxconn could produce new iPhone models in sufficient quantities in the given circumstances. From corporate circles it is now said that enough devices could be manufactured to withstand a great surge.

With the new iPhone SE, Apple is priced aggressively by its standards. The basic model is available from 449 euros (64 GB of memory). The variant with 128 GB costs 519 euros, the largest with 256 GB costs 639 euros.

Unlike the latest top models, Apple isn’t based on unlocking the device with facial recognition (FaceID), but on a fingerprint sensor (TouchID) for the newly released iPhone SE.
