The recent flat-level trend encourages Austrians.

The number of new infections is increasing rapidly worldwide. The United States remains the sad leader: 900,000 cases, about 52,000 people who died from the virus. On Thursday, the United States mourned more than 3,176 deaths. After all, the next day it was reported that 1,258 new victims in the 24-hour period meant the lowest number in three weeks. However, experts continue to warn about premature hope.

Austria is doing very well in international comparison. The “Corona curve” is flattening out more and more. With 77 new cases in a 24-hour comparison, the increase remained in the clear double-digit range. The number of people currently ill decreased by 160 people or just under 6 percent to 2,509. 12,103 people have already recovered, until Saturday at 3:30 p.m. According to the Ministry of Health, so far 518 people have died from the virus.

Waiting for business openings to impact

608 people are hospitalized for coronavirus disease, 148 of them in intensive care units. That’s eight less than on Friday.

Eleven days had passed since Saturday yesterday since the first stores opened on April 14. Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) noted that any effect of the measure on current figures would be delayed by at least 12 days. Therefore, the first indications could emerge this Sunday.
