The exploratory talks after the Vienna elections begin today with a red-rose rally. Michael Ludwig will meet representatives of NEOS, the Greens and ÖVP will follow in the next few days.

The exploratory talks after the Vienna elections on October 11 begin today in Vienna. It begins with a red-rose gathering. The president of the SPÖ, Mayor Michael Ludwig, and his negotiating team received the representatives of NEOS in the afternoon.

A conversation with the Greens will follow on Tuesday and ÖVP will be explored on Wednesday. According to Ludwig, the ranking has purely time-related reasons and not content. There will be no meeting with the FPÖ.

After the explorations, the Social Democrats want to decide with whom to enter government negotiations. The SPÖ is currently in coalition with the Greens.

All the parties that participated in the rounds of talks were able to win the elections a week ago. The Social Democrats improved by 2 percentage points to 41.6 percent. The Greens gained 3 percentage points and are now at 14.8 percent. The ÖVP managed to surpass the 20 percent mark (20.4 percent) with an increase of 11.2 percentage points. NEOS reached 7.5 percent (plus 1.3 percentage points).
