Neo-coach Muslic de Ried starts today

There is practically not a spare minute on the 38-year-old’s agenda: the day with crown tests begins at 7:30 a.m., and at 11 a.m. the new beacon of hope is officially presented to the public in the VIP club of Rieder Josko- Sand. At 3pm, the start of his first training camp session.

Funny: even in the next few weeks there is hardly time to breathe. One of his first official acts will be finding his own replacement: Muslic is currently completing the UEFA Pro license, the highest coaching education in the country, and must complete six modules by the summer. That means: a module generally lasts three days – Muslic was unable to be present during training until 18 days in the spring. For the first time this year he goes to school from January 25 to 27, and it is precisely at this stage that the first round of English takes place in spring. On Wednesday, January 27, the people of Innviertel will perform in Salzburg. On game day, as head coach, you can take time off the field, but your team will definitely miss you on the previous two training days.

Grüll at the start of training

With Wolfgang Fiala, Ried’s new sports coordinator, another decision maker from the Innviertel region will not be there: the 33-year-old is also attending the professional license course with Muslic. That is why the new co-trainers Christian Heinle and Clemens Zulehner will have a special responsibility. Gerhard Schweitzer’s expertise is known to be dispensed with in the new supervisory team.
Marco Grüll, however, is further away in Ried. The under-21 forward, who has not only aroused the interest of Salzburg, has been able to officially negotiate with other clubs since the beginning of the year due to his contract expiration.
