There was a violent explosion in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, on Friday morning (local time). Images from local television station WKRN showed fire trucks and various fires on the street.
About two hours later, the fires shown were clearly contained. Three people were hospitalized with minor injuries, an emergency services spokesman said.
Police confirmed on Twitter that there was an explosion in a vehicle at 6:30 am (local time). Another spokesperson claimed that the investigators assumed a deliberate act. An emergency worker had told WKRN that a caravan had exploded and several buildings had been damaged.
Numerous Nashville Videos on Social Media
Dozens of users on social networks had taken photos and videos showing black smoke above the city center. The photographs showed broken glass in several houses. The mayor and emergency services wanted to hold more press conferences later in the morning.
Do you think maybe channels 4, 5, and 17 should be covering something that blew up on 2nd Ave?
