Murder alert in Meidling: police catch suspects – Vienna

Apparently a dispute resulted in death in Vienna-Meidling. The Viennese police were able to arrest a suspect.

The case was a mystery: on Wednesday, a passer-by had alerted the police because he had discovered an injured and unconscious man lying in the street in Vienna-Meidling. Immediately arriving police officers provided first aid at the scene and the man died of serious injuries while in the ambulance.

As Viennese police reported on Sunday, the case has apparently already been cleared up. Investigators from the State Criminal Police Office succeeded in investigating a 27-year-old Austrian citizen as an urgent suspect after extensive investigations into the surroundings of the deceased.

The woman was questioned as a possible contact person and told investigators that she had stuck a knife in the victim’s chest during an argument. Based on the testimony of the 27-year-old, the Vienna Prosecutor issued an arrest warrant, the arrest was carried out on Saturday at 5 p.m. The exact motive is currently unclear, the suspect will continue to be questioned by investigators for the course of Sunday.
