Mountain rescue operation after cries for help in alpine terrain in Steinbach am Ziehberg

Alleged cries for help triggered a mountain rescue operation on Sunday in Grünau im Almtal (Gmunden district) and Steinbach am Ziehberg (Kirchdorf an der Krems district).

In the Hochsalm area, one person reportedly reported screams that could be cries for help. This was followed by a mountain rescue operation both from Steinbach am Ziehberg and from the other side in Grünau im Almtal. The entire area was searched, but no possible accident victim was found. So far, no dependency notification has been received. However, a connection to another search operation that has been running since Sunday night can be dropped.
