A sleigh ride in Kirchdorf on Saturday turned into a horror trip for a family. In the morning, a 47-year-old Austrian took a trip to the toboggan run at the Kramerhof in Kirchdorf in Tirol with her 51-year-old partner and their two children.

After arriving at Bacheralm, the start of the toboggan run, at 11 am, the 47-year-old was the first to set off alone with her slide. His partner and the two children followed him, all on a separate slide, but had no eye contact with their partner or mother. For a previously unknown cause, the 47-year-old got off the toboggan run on the bottom section of the well-groomed and grippy toboggan run on a slight right-hand bend, punctured a plastic net and got stuck in a wooden post.

The woman was rescued from the emergency doctor’s helicopter with a rope and airlifted to the St. Johann in Tirol district hospital. The injuries suffered by the woman were so serious that she had to be transferred from there to the University Clinic in Innsbruck.
